Aura 4

v0.4.0

Focus Mode is now generally available

One task in focus, full-screen, with a built-in "do not disturb" timer. Free for all teams during the launch month.

  • added
  • changed

Focus Mode is the single biggest change in this release. We rebuilt the task view from the ground up so the task you picked stays the only task you see.

Added

  • Full-screen Focus Mode. Pick a task, hide everything else, and ship. Press F to toggle from anywhere in the app.
  • Built-in focus timer. Pomodoro-style 25/5 with a long-break every fourth cycle. The timer is local to your machine — it does not start a meeting.
  • "Do not disturb" auto-silencer. While Focus Mode is active, Aura suppresses in-app notifications for everyone who has you assigned, and your status flips to a custom "In focus" pill.
  • End-of-session prompt. When the timer ends we ask one question: "Ship it, or carry it over?" Your answer is logged to the task — no extra meeting needed.

Changed

  • The home page now defaults to your most important task instead of the most recent task. The recent task is still one click away in the sidebar.
  • Inline task editing is now a long-press on the title, not a hover-and-click. The hover version was triggering on touchpads every time you scrolled.

Fixed

  • Tasks created from a quick-add in the header were occasionally missing the assigneeId — they appeared unassigned for ~3 seconds before re-rendering. The race is fixed; they now appear assigned from the first paint.
  • Focus Mode audio cues were using a base64 blob that broke on Safari 17. Switched to a real file; tested on Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Arc.

Notes

Focus Mode is opt-in per workspace until July 1. After that it becomes the default and the classic board stays available behind a setting. If your team needs more time to migrate, email support@aura4.app and we will keep your workspace on the old default through the end of July.
